Most of my work happens in parks and churches rather than ballrooms. Each page below covers one place: photographs made there, and what the light, the space and the practicalities are actually like — the things worth knowing before you plan a day around it.
Oxbow Regional Park
Gresham, Oregon
A thousand acres of fir forest on the Sandy River, half an hour east of Portland. Closed canopy, so even a midsummer ceremony photographs softly.
Lake Grove Presbyterian Church
Lake Oswego, Oregon
A sanctuary built around a full-height pipe organ that fills the entire front wall, with a second wall of coloured glass giving a completely different backdrop.
